Welcome to Whitby Yacht Club
The Whitby Yacht Club is an established member-owned and operated yacht club overlooking the beautiful Lake Ontario. Whitby Yacht Club set a course in 1966 to build an active and comprehensive yachting facility for members of all ages. Today the WYC holds true to that course. We have established a premier social and recreational club where members and their families enjoy a distinctive environment.
The Whitby Yacht Club offers a varied calendar of exciting events in an atmosphere of good fellowship… we have something for everyone from bridge and book clubs, to dinner and dancing, to yacht racing, to marine education and cruising. If you’ve ever wanted a place to get away from it all without leaving town, here it is.
Welcome aboard! We invite you to explore our website, come visit us, or contact us for information.

Prior to Arriving
If you are planning your visit to our club, we recommend minimum 48 hours notice so that we can ensure sufficient dock space and docking assistance is available. Reciprocal bookings should be made during regular office hours, (Mon-Fri, 9-5), excluding statutory holidays. Booking requests submitted outside of office hours by email, phone, or Google Form will be addressed on the next business day. Please contact us through the club office 905-668-1391 or at wyc@wyc.ca. You can also fill out the Reciprocal Request Form on our website. If you have NOT made a reciprocal request, please tie up at the pump-out dock and visit the office for further instruction.
We understand that some visits may be made on short notice. To support our guests, we aim to have an Officer of the Day available on weekends and statutory holidays from 12-7pm. The Officer monitors VHF Channel 68 and is available to assist with visitor inquiries and same day booking requests. Whitby Yacht Club is proudly run by a dedicated board of volunteers. While we make every effort to ensure consistent coverage, Officers of the Day may vary based on volunteer availability.
Docking Fee
WYC is a true reciprocal club, meaning that we offer the same privileges as the visiting club would offer to a visiting WYC member, subject to dock availability.
Checking In
Upon arrival we ask that all visitors report to staff in the office or the Officer of the Day, who will confirm slip assignment. All visitors will be asked to present their club membership card and sign our visitor book in our Dockboard room. We also monitor Channel 68 and will do our best to assist you through that method.
Boating Accommodations
Our finger docks are furnished with non-portable water and hydro. In addition there is an available pump out for use. Fuel is available across the harbour at Port Whitby Marina. Access to the Clubhouse for washroom and shower use is available with a temporary access code assigned upon arrival. BBQ’s are available for visitors’ use free of charge – BBQing on your boat is not allowed while at WYC.
