Newport Yacht Club was organized in 1936 as a membership corporation under New York State law with its clearly stated purpose: “To promote the sport of small boat racing and small boat sailing.
We have an active sailboat racing and social program through the year and welcome new members who have an interest in small boat racing and sailing to come down to the club and check us out. The club is located on the old Birds & Worms Hotel property, with the clubhouse still having much of the original structure intact.
We have dock facilities for sailboats up to a maximum of 30′ length with some slips able to accommodate wide boats, but most having width requirements as well. We are an all volunteer club with no full time staff and access to the clubhouse by members only. If you come to visit by water, plan on no facilities beyond dock space. Before visiting us, please send an email to NYCReciprocating@NewportYachtClubRoc.com to let us know you are coming and get instructions for where to dock. Include a description of your boats (length, beam, draft) and dates you plan to visit.
